CHALLENGE:
Develop a full service CCRC on a suburban site limited in area by wetlands, conservancies and future interstate on-ramps.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Two major points of entry, a primary entry to the commons/independent living components and a second that leads visitors into a very residential neutral zone separating the skilled nursing and assisted living components.
  • Because of this planning strategy, reception staffing was reduced and the high-end atmosphere eliminates any institutional overtones.
  • The 7,200-sq.ft. Wellness Center featuring enclosed pool, workout rooms, massage room and country club style locker rooms set a new standard in the marketplace.
  • Interior courtyard is the coal point of the common areas and reinforces the village-like intent of the design.
  • Exterior design influenced by the client’s interest in creating a specific brand, has inspired other CCRC providers to follow a similar format.
