Construction of a new supportive living component strengthens market position, enhances daily living for existing residents and makes future IL repositioning possible.
Carefully place a significant new structure within the fabric of an existing community while minimizing disruption of daily life for existing residents.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The design team meticulously researched and carefully integrated the details of a Key West vernacular to introduce a vibrant, new state-of-the-art health care center into the community.
- This addition to the campus includes a commons area with generous activity and gathering spaces to serve the existing IL population.
- The project supports further development within the community by providing the infrastructure for a future independent living addition.
- A household environment was created to support the community’s philosophy of “choice and change”.
- Careful planning allowed the staff functions to be centralized in order to support efficient operations while still providing resident-centered care.
- With living room and other activity spaces positioned directly off the corridors, residents benefit from the intimate feel of a home and easy access to socialization while staff can effectively service care needs.
- Sustainability was also a priority. Three Palms received a LEED Platinum rating under the US Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes Program.
