To create a sense of place on a hilly suburban site surrounded by residential subdivisions.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The facility promotes independence and interaction within a welcoming environment with the feeling of a five-star hotel.
- A long winding drive, which climbs form a busy suburban boulevard, leads to the entry court while sweeping new arrivals past glimpses of what lies ahead.
- A dramatic porte cochere signifies a sense of arrival and welcomes residents and guests into a voluminous entry.
- A series of arches and vaulted walkways draw them through the facility, encouraging them to experience what is just around the corner.
- Lounges, dining areas, fitness/wellness areas, and a grand chapel provide a variety of experiences.
- Constant orientation to the outside and numerous outdoor spaces with features such as fountains reinforce an indoor/outdoor feel.
- The chapel is an essential component of this religiously oriented project. It seats more that 100 people and is used daily for Mass and other services.
- After much discussion and exploration, the provider chose the Tuscan style which is consistently articulated throughout the exterior and interior of this high-end community.
