41-D. Design Strategies for Transformational Repositioning
Join AG Senior Associate Hailey Schwobe on Monday, October 26, from 8:30 – 9:30 am to explore design strategies for transformational repositioning. Schwobe, along with Ted Bolles (Project Development Manager, LCS Development), Jordan Morrow (Executive Director, Greenwood Village South), and Lindsey Viegut (Executive Director, Eastcastle Place), will illustrate two repositioning approaches that share a common mission and similar goals.
Using Greenwood Village South and Eastcastle Place as case studies, the session will show how a collaborative design process valued diverse user groups’ voices to reveal the best path forward for community expansion. Greenwood Village South chose a campus refresh with renovations and new construction. In contrast, Eastcastle Place reallocated space on its urban site to meet immediate market demands while preparing for future construction. Learn how the teams balanced financial constraints with stakeholder input and built consensus for final plans that suited each community.
“I am excited to share the Greenwood and Eastcastle stories with LeadingAge attendees,” says Schwobe. “These examples illustrate how every campus has a different path forward. Through our lessons learned, I hope attendees see the benefits of a collaborative process and how the right design solution emerges from thoughtful choices that best fit their people, place, and purpose.”
32-I. Build a Team That Outperforms Expectations
On Tuesday, October 27, from 4:30 – 5:30 pm, AG’s Chief Design Officer Eric Harrmann will be part of a panel discussing how extraordinary outcomes depend on extraordinary teams. Harrmann will join Fairview CEO Billy Nelson and Greystone President Brad Straub to share insights on the cross-functional team assembled to deliver a successful expansion for Fairview, a small nonprofit life plan community in Groton, Connecticut.
Attendees will learn the strategic decisions, pivots, and mindset shifts needed to achieve operations, culture, sales, brand, design, and development goals. The leaders will share a team-building framework and tips for shifting culture and inspiring optimism—demonstrating how to deliver successful outcomes despite opinions that the endeavor would not resonate with the intended audience.
