CHALLENGE:
This proactive provider was looking to enhance its senior living community with additional independent living units, a modern amenity package and memory care beds to solidify its market position.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The new development expands its existing offering by responding to current market conditions and consumer expectations.
- The new buildings offer eclectic Florida Craftsman-style architecture and were positioned to wrap around and embrace the natural water feature of an adjacent property.
- Departing from typical coastal influences, the interior design explores clean lines, a mix of textures and a vibrant palette.
- Art serves as a connection to the greater community. Inspired art installations bring the cultural energy of Mount Dora to all of the Lakeside environments.
- The foundation and main entry point of the new campus, called Lakeside Grand, is an 87-unit independent living apartment building with an amenity-rich clubhouse.
- This mixed use style environment features a multi-space dining destination with picturesque views of the natural setting. The clubhouse also provides a variety of venues that encourage connectivity and support healthy living.
- By positioning 52 garden homes adjacent to the clubhouse, the design leverages this amenity offering while creating a desirable neighborhood-style living option.
- The varying square footages, two-car garages, open floor plans and screened-in porches differentiate this product from the existing community.
- A highlight of the project is the addition of two, 16-unit Lakehouses. This unique housing option in the market appeals to consumer demands while meeting the need for increased density on campus.
- The project also includes a sensitively designed memory care component to complete the continuum of care on campus. The two, 12-unit households prioritize gathering spaces and engaging art.
- A highlight is a sensory room with an illuminated installation. It is an interactive LED art piece with fiber strands for resident interaction. The room includes tactile sequin art, textured drywall panels and recessed bubble towers. This is a unique environment and calming sensory experience.
